Brampton Stables was started in 1970 by Derick Ward. Having left the LifeGuards and whilst pursuing his love of hunting he was offered a small hireling yard in the adjacent village. Inevitably the business grew with rides and liveries as well as looking after Polo ponies and hunters. The business moved to its present site, which used to be a typical Northamptonshire farm, in 1978 and continued to prosper. Now Brampton Stables is a well known riding and training establishment and this takes all our time. Our links with the Pytchley Hunt remain and some of our livery owners still follow hounds. The approval of the British Horse Society (BHS) and Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) was sought at an early stage and we have remained accredited to both bodies ever since. We take pride in the care of our horses and ponies and they usually remain with us for a very long time. In 2005 the old part of the premises was sold and will eventually be 4 very beautiful houses. We have built an American Barn with brand new facilities including rubber matting, automatic waterers, swing out mangers, wash bays, two tack rooms and a laundry room. Now we can pander to our equine charges even better – they even have windows so that they can admire the lovely view over the fields! |
